My family loves stir fry served over ramen noodles, but my college son took my case of ramen noodles when he left for school two weeks ago (he did a lot of shopping in my pantry before he left), so we had it over fettucine instead. Reduce the amount of red pepper flakes if you don’t like spicy food.
Beef and Broccoli
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 can beef broth
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 pound boneless round steak, cut into bite size pieces
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
4 cups chopped fresh broccoliIn a small bowl, combine flour, broth, sugar, and soy sauce. Stir until sugar and flour are dissolved. In a large skillet or wok over high heat, cook and stir beef 2 to 4 minutes, or until browned. Stir in broth mixture, ginger, garlic, and broccoli. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat. Simmer 5 to 10 minutes, or until sauce thickens.

This looks really good. I bet I could use venison (Grumpy told me to use more of it up soon because hunting starts again at the end of this month!).
LOL @ the shopping in your pantry. My kids do that to me….and I have done that to my mom….even as an adult! LOL Usually for home canned pickled beets, beans, etc. ;-)
looks yummy barbara. sometimes my brothers will eat what i am going to be using for baking the next day, urgh – that is “so” agrivating!:) but, i am glad i can run to the store to get more.:)
Yum, what a perfect dinner. I could eat beef and broccoli every night! Great recipe Barbara.
Mmm classic combination that never fails to disappoint. Gotta have ramen in the pantry all the time, right ?
That looks so good!!! And it sounds like you have a typical kid, saving a little money. LOL
It looks good. College kids love ramen noodles, don’t they? :)
Great way to change things up at our house. I am definitely bookmarking this one.
